Clean the Filter

Ever since I stopped messin' around with my ex, things have been going well for me. Saturday I got the letter that I'd been waiting for. The results from the Police Officers Recruit exam that I took in June. I PASSED!!!!!!! Yay!

I was starting to think that they forgot about me. Next thing I need to worry about is the physical. I've been going to the gym a lot lately. Hope it pays off for me.

Now that I have a lot more free time on my hand I have also been able to hang out with family more. I've also been able to spend more time with my crazy lil' god-son.

I really think that the negativity that my ex carried around with him was polluting my aura. It covered me like a shell. Now that he's gone, I am open to receive the gifts that the world has for me. However small they might be, I am happy to receive them.

What do you have going on in your life that you are happy about?
Share with your girl!

Peace

THAT'S WHAT'S UP ON THE PO-PO NOTICE...LOL.

I'm so glad you were able to reflect on that lost and view it as you should...as a better day.

Girl, I'm so blessed it's crazy... Life, Health and Strength and enough...but God didn't stop there, He's given me friends to talk and share with, He's given my family, He's given me a Home and Job and a Future. With all that, the most important thing is he's given me Joy and Peace, because those are the ONLY things that will sustain you when all that other stuff rolls-falls-goes- away!

Well, there sure is a lot that's not goin' right for me at this time, but that wasn't what you axed for, was it? 1. God is still God. Thank God! 2. My children are healthy, happy, and saved. So, I'm pretty much done. 3. The imminent new season of The Wire (sans Idris "Stringer Bell" Elba, sadly). 4. My eldest child's accomplishments and improvement this summer on the track. Her legs have developed gorgeously (I'ma hafta crush a lil homie up at the high school...I just KNOW it!), and her times continue to drop. She gon' stomp somebody's (the competition) whole spirit come cross-country season in a few weeks. 5. Momma. She's intrepid, I tell ya'. 6. Kudos are flooding in concerning the big 300-person church outing for which I was point person. ('Course now they want me to be a deacon, LOL!) 7. Been working out regularly lately, and sorta kinda gettin' cut again already, if I do say so myself. 8. My peeps still think I'm the bee's knees...I think. 9. Saw Bourne Ultimatum (superb flick) on Saturday with my wife, and when we returned home from our date our 15-year-old daughter greeted us just inside the front door, and not in the driveway surrounded by firemen.

That's enough for now. Don't wanna hog all your bandwidth. Oh, wait, 10. The Police (Sting an’nem) have reunited and are touring! Eeeyo! Eeeya! Eeeyohooooo!

I have a lot going on that I'm happy about...and not so happy about, but WAY to long to put in your comments.

I'm working my way to posting about it, but in the meantime, as of today, I'm totally happy with my new toy! (laptop)

Anywho, congrats on passing your exam!

You might be on to something. Get rid of the bad stuff so that the good stuff can come in. Good luck with the "po-po notice"

(I hope I get in and out of Philly this weekend without getting arrested ;-))

I am moving to the east coast. I am ready to leave this 190 degree city and identity theft capital. I have never been somewhere where the identity theft is so bad you need your birth cert and an ID to pay cash.

@ jmw,
PREACH GIRL!!!!!
I’m so happy to hear you’re receiving all the blessings you deserve.

@ anonymousnupe,
Glad to hear that. Don’t watch "the wire", but I did see the Bourne Ultimatum. Loved it. Gawd…I’m so happy he’s been distancing himself from Ben Afleck professionally. Cannot stress how much I dislike that man!

Thank you. Yeah I’ma definitely be a minority up in there. T'oh well!
